Breath of Spring Doily

I managed to finish and block the doily today. The pattern is from an old magazine I got at a local old bookshop. It called for size 40 thread but I used much thicker thread, my guess would be size 10 or 8. So, it turned out much larger than I expected and now it won't fit the table I intended it for. But, it is still gorgeous anyway and I will make it fit somewhere. One idea I have is of using as an applique over a bedsheet . I'm open to other suggestions as well :)

  1. Oh, my goodness! That is beautiful work! One suggestion would be to frame it for a wall hanging.

  2. hey this is beautiful.I have such cloth patterns in my home too. My mom has used them over cushions.

  3. How stunning! I do love doilies! I think it looks great where it is, do you have a small table where it might hang over the edge?

  4. Beautiful. Your work is lovely.

  5. Aslam alykum
Your work very beautiful. I am live in KSA can you tell me which thread you use to crochet in pak and find a shop.

  6. @ Shabana.Walaikom Assalaam. The thread I used for this doily was from my penpal in Sweden. Otherwise, I use Coats cotton balls (size 8) which are readily available at all local lace and thread shops.

  7. Assalamu'alaykum sister Umme Yusuf,

Masha'Allah I love your doily. I liked the idea to frame it as well.

I'm a bit intimidated by crochet doilies(crocheting for about 10 months now Al hamdulillah.

But Insha'Allah I'll get the hang of it. Thanks for sharing your talent masha'Allah.

Kind regards and I REALLY enjoy frequenting your blog.
