Yet Another WIP
I've nothing really interesting to share at this point but I was RAKed the other day and the delicious yarns were too tempting, LOL. So, I have started a summer top for dd. Still at the yoke and worrying if I have enough yarn (one ball of SWTC Bamboo = 250 yards). As I'm trying to work out a design of my own, there has been some ripping involved and the going is slow.

A Few More RAKs
Over June, I received many more RAKs (Random acts of kindness) through the RAK group at ravelry. Each of these is so special because all sent me things that I needed and not available here. These will vastly improve the quality and scope of my craft, inshallah.
The first was from Indiajoy who sent me a set of DPNs, some circular needles and a ball of lovely sock yarn.
Then SueF from USA made me dizzy with her two package. One had some lovely purse handles, magnetic closures and a set of bamboo DPNs. The other had four ball of Patons Classic Wool in such gorgeous colors and a needle sizing card.
Then I got some Peaches and Creme and Silky Wool from zortified in the USA.
And lastly, Lyndystitches sent me a afghan crochet hook.

A Few Sock Bags
I made these early in June for RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) at the RAK group , ravelry. The first one had a accessories pouch with it, others went solo. These are made from 100% cotton (Pakistani, of course) with coordinated lining and interfacing in between. This tutorial was very helpful, though I added tags on both ends of the zipper for easy opening and closure.
I have some fabric leftover for three more. So I was thinking.....hmmm... maybe a few more RAK or a blog contest!!??

RAK fingerless gloves
Now that CrochetCupcake from RAK gorup at ravelry has received her package, I feel free to post a pciture of the gloves I made for her. I made these last month, took about three weeks to reach her in the US.
The yarn was 100% wool, a now discontinued local brand in natural color. I dyed it myself. This was my first experience with wool and the result was quite nice. The pattern was of Shawnee's own choice. I just modified the thumb gusset, starting the increases early and increasing on every third round.

Ravelry's RAK (Random acts of kindness) group
The RAK group at Ravelry is so great. As with RAKs, everyone posts their wishlists and then tries to fulfill others' those wishes that they can. So you send out stuff randomly and receive things randomly as well.
Things I have received: Over the past two months, I have received many things that I had wished for. First, Serife from UK sent me this lovely skein.
Then I got this yarn winder, some babysoft yarn and great tasting chocolate from zinzia from Belgium.
Then I had some great sock yarn sent by fey from USA.
Then came such a great collection of circular needles and some lovely fancy yarn oddballs from fubsy, UK.
Then only yesterday, I received these lovely beads and buttons from Bloreknitter, India.
Things I have sent:As I have been quite busy these few months, I could not send out as many gifts as I wished. However I did manage a few. Mostly I sent handmade items and postcards. I just sent out a pair of fingerless gloves today. I plan to do a few more RAKs by the end of this month, inshallah.
