Scheherazade's Slippers

I have barely managed to meet the deadline on the March Sockdown at SKA (ravelry) and just now finished my second sock. It should have been a breeze to finish the pair in the allotted two months but I procrastinated and did not start the second sock till four days were left. So, after this knitting spurt, here is the FO. It did not make it before sunset, so I had to take indoor pictures.

Here is a side view of the first sock taken earlier.

The pattern is Scheherazade's slippers ( ravelry link), yarn Lana Grossa Meilenweit 50 Cotton and 2.5mm needles. Did I mention it before?_ I really love this pattern though it is not in proper pattern format and there are a few errors in the charts but still, it is gorgeous!

Floral Cushion

I had started this cushion many many years ago but never got around to sewing it up together.The pattern is from an old burda crochet magazine.
I got it out today and spent the morning in assembling it up. It is destined for our car and matches its new upholstery.

So At last I finished the first project of the coatimundi KAL. It is such a wonderful pattern and I had a great time knitting it. The seaming and tucking in of the loose ends can be a bit tedious but still worth it. So, here is my coat done on 6.5 mm needles with some local yarn which had no label. No modifications here.

Potohar Felted Bag

Thus is named the bag I made last week. I have written the pattern and madeit available for free through my ravelry store. You can click on this link to download the file.

As, for the name, Potohar is the region of Pakistan, I belong to. Colors in the bag somewhat remind me of the local scenery.

Coatimundi KAL, week 5

The now-in-the-second-month KAL has suffered from neglect lately, but that is changing now as I push to get both projects done by the end of April, inshaAllah. I don't have any latest photos, but I'm done with the first half of the shawl, including the edging. And as for the coat, I'm right now working on the second sleeve.
Shells is well ahead now with her coat almost done and her shawl looks so pretty.

"Some Bag"

So I rose to the challenge and knit up "some bag" with the Noro yarn (and some more) from the frogged glove. And now I have to admit, a bag was a much better project idea. I am in love with this one. It used two balls of Noro Kureyon, different colorways, and about 0.8 skein of Araucania Magallanes and 6.5 mm needles. It is my own design which I hope to write up and place in my ravelry shop soon, inshaAllah.

This has been so much fun. Even my resident critic a.k.a my husband declared it to be one of my "better" designs, LOL. But the downside has been that in knitting this, I totally neglected my Coatimundi KAL projects and now am lagging behind. So, I will be picking those up now and try to finish them fast.

Another Handspun

I just finished spinning some more yarn today. It was Louet roving from the drop spindle kit I got as a gift from a friend, last month. It was so easy and wonderful to spin and I love the color. There are about 180 meters of 2-ply yarn.
