Summer Sewing

This weekend, whatever time I could find, was almost entirely dedicated to sewing. I did four projects. The first two are some more upcycling projects.
First, I turned my son's old pair of jeans into shorts.

Second project was an old pair of toddler overalls which I turned into a bag. For the handles I braided some jute rope.

The other two were newer sewing projects, a couple of dresses for my daughter.

  1. I wish you lived nearby! Bug loves the dresses! I do actually think I could even turn her pants into shorts like that, the ones which have worn through the knees.

  2. Now I have to go digging through that big bin of too small clothes so that I can find the stuff to make myself an overalls bag. I don't necessarily know if this is a good thing though. Thanks, Umme, lol.

  3. Sigh, if only my children would WEAR shorts, I would do that for some of their pants! Sigh. On the other hand, neither do I, even at home.

  5. When my first was about 2, and I had time (hahahahaha), I modified one dress pattern to fit her perfectly and then churned out about 1735 little girl dresses. It was so fun.

Now I'm starting to get the itch again. I love your bag.
